Austin · In-home strength coaching
Your weight-loss plan needs a strength plan.
GLP-1 Muscle Defense is RxFit’s strength-training focus for adults navigating prescribed weight loss. Practice suitable movements, build a repeatable routine and track what you can do, not just what you weigh.
Medication decisions stay with your prescriber. Ask us to confirm location, schedule and training fit.
A practical training focus
Give strength its own place in the plan.
A lower scale number does not reveal how much fat, lean tissue or fluid changed. Research and expert guidance support attention to resistance training and function during GLP-1 treatment. They do not establish a guaranteed muscle-retention result.1–3
01 / START
Choose a repeatable starting point.
Discuss your training experience, available equipment and any exercise restrictions from your care team. Ask your coach which movements and setup make sense for you.
02 / PRACTICE
Train with a clear purpose.
Work on suitable resistance exercises and consistent technique. Adjust the plan with your coach instead of chasing a bigger number every session.
03 / REVIEW
Compare useful observations.
Record movement, resistance, repetitions and effort. Compare similar sessions and everyday function; discuss symptoms or medication concerns with your prescriber.

Questions before you start
Clear expectations. Useful answers.
Can you guarantee that I will retain all my muscle?
No. “Muscle Defense” describes a strength-training focus, not a validated treatment or promised outcome. Individual results vary; the sources below do not establish a retention percentage for RxFit.
Does lean-mass loss mean the same thing as muscle loss?
No. A DXA lean-mass estimate is not a direct measurement of skeletal muscle or strength. Interpret body-composition measurements with an appropriately qualified professional and consider strength/function separately.1, 3
Do you prescribe GLP-1 medication or set my dose?
No. This is personal training. Your prescribing professional manages medication. Individual nutrition needs and symptoms belong with the appropriate qualified professional.
Is this available in my Austin neighborhood?
Ask us to confirm your address, schedule and training fit. Downtown Austin, Tarrytown and West Lake Hills are established areas in our in-home training information; current availability must be confirmed directly.
What if I feel unwell during training?
Pause exercise and contact the professional managing your care about new or persistent symptoms. Severe or urgent symptoms require prompt medical attention. A training page cannot determine whether a symptom is medication-related.

Evidence behind the approach
- STEP 1 body-composition analysis (2021): exploratory DXA substudy; lean mass is not a direct strength endpoint.
- GLP-1 nutrition and activity advisory (2025): multi-society guidance, not a trial of RxFit.
- STEP UP muscle and function analysis (2026): small MRI subgroup; composition and performance require separate interpretation.
